You can run the program from either the:
- Stock Split button on the Sage 50 / Sage Line 50 Product module tool bar (as shown Above)
- Or, from the Windows Start Button > Programs Menu

Stock Split Info Field
Select which of the three custom fields you are using by clicking the down arrow next to the "Stock Split Info Field" box.
- The Line 50 Product File has three custom fields that can be found on the "Web" tab of the Product Record.
- Decide which one of the three you want to use and change it's title to "Split Info" by selecting the Line 50 menu option "Settings" and then "Configuration".
- You will find the custom field labels on the "Products" tab.
Enter Split Information for each Splittable Product.
- For each product that can be split enter the quantity and code of the product that will be created by the split into the product record's custom field set up previously
- Enter the quantity first followed by an X and then the product code.
- For example the entry above means that if this product is split the program will create 48 of Part B000
- N.B. the X can be either upper or lower case and the spaces around it are optional
- Note: if your outer / bulk product is split into various selling quantities e.g. cans of beer / lager purchased in outers of 24 but sold in 4-packs and individually:
- First, split the 24 outer into 6 x (code for the 4-pack)
- and then split the (code for the 4-pack) into 4 x (code for the individual product).
Cache Product List
- If the "Cache Product List" box is ticked the program will keep it's own list of splittable products to allow for a quick startup. You will need to select the "Refresh" menu option whenever a change is made to the "Split Info" in the Line 50 product file.
- If this option is not ticked the program will search the Line 50 product file for splittable products each time it is started up.
Search Descriptions
- If the "Search Descriptions" box is ticked you will be able to search for splittable product by entering a word from the product description.
- Unticking the box will turn this feature off.
Min Search Length
The "Min Search Length" is the number of characters that have to be entered before the search facility is activated. If you have a large number of products you may need to increase this to 4 or more.
Calculate New CP
If the "Calculate New CP" box is ticked the program will recalculate the Cost Price of the split product from the Last Cost Price of the splittable product.
Stock Split - Main Program Screen
The window can be resized by dragging the corners or edges. The status bar at the bottom of the window will display a progress bar when the program is busy. When the program is idle, the number of splittable products are displayed.
Split Box
- Enter the code of the product to be split in this box.
- Alternatively you can enter a word from the product's description and a list of matches will be displayed (Unless this feature has been turned off in the program's Options)
- Click on an entry in the list to select it. If only one match is found the product will be automatically selected.
Split Qty Box
- Enter the quantity of product that you want to split.
- You can also change the quantity by clicking on the up and down arrows or by pressing the up and down keys.
Result Box
Displays the code and description of the product that will be created by the split.
Result Qty Box
Displays the quantity of product that will be created by the split.
Split Button
Click this button to carry out the split.
Menu Button
Click this button to show the program's menu (see discussion below)
The History List
Each time a split is carried out the program will enter the split details at the top of the list. If necessary you can scroll the list up and down with the scroll bar that will appear at the right hand side.
The columns in the history list are:

Program Menu
To show the program's menu click the Menu Button or right click any grey part of the program's main window.

Refresh
- Select this option to refresh the list of splittable products held in the programs cache.
- This menu option will only be displayed if the "Cache Product List" option has been selected on the Options dialog.
Options - Select this option to display the Options dialog. (See Program Options above)
Data Path - Displays the Data Path dialog (to your Sage Data - See Installation)
User Name - Displays the User Name and Password dialog (for your Sage Data)
Licence - Displays the Licence dialog (See Installation).
About - Displays information about the program.
Help
- displays help documentation.
- The documentation viewer window may be resized by dragging it's edges or corners with the mouse

Simple and Straightforward
Installation of the Stock Split for Sage Line 50 / Sage 50 is simple and straightforward and should take no more than a few minutes. Comprehensive step-by-step instructions are provided.
Prior to installation you will need to:
- Ensure that you have installed all the appropriate patches and updates from the Sage update site for your version of Sage (comprehensive notes are provided with the download)
- Obtain from Sage a Serial and Activation key to enable '3rd Party Integration'.
Notes and telephone numbers are provided with the download but Sage will want to know the main serial number for your copy of Sage and the version number - found by going to Sage 50,'s HELP / ABOUT menu option.
N.B. The same 3rd Party Integration keys can be used for all addons that require them
