Product Duplicator add-on for Sage Line 50 / Sage 50 Accounts - Main Program Screen

With this program you can create new Line 50 product records by copying a template product. It is ideal for creating bespoke products that are based on an assembly of standard components and sub-assemblies.

Generates a sequential suffix number for each new product.
You can amend the Description, Sales Price and BOM Table as you create each new product.
The Cost Price is dynamically calculated by adding up the Cost Prices of the BOM Components.
Option to automatically calculate the Sales Price as well.
Add notes about the product directly into the Product Record's Memo field.
The program can be run from a button in the Line 50 Product Module (Financial Controller only).
Licensed for use on as many of your company's computers as you like.
Compatible with Sage Line 50 versions 8 to 14 (2008).

Run the program by:

If you have Financial Controller you can run the program by clicking the button on the Sage Line 50 Products module tool bar.
Or by selecting “Adept Tools” and then “Product Duplicator ” from the Windows Start Button / Programs Menu.

Product Duplicator add-on for Sage Line 50 / Sage 50 Accounts - Options Menu

Template Prefix

Enter the Stock Code prefix for your template (finished item) products.
You can enter more than one prefix by separating them with a comma.
The main product list will be restricted to products that have the prefix(es) entered here.

Component Prefix

Enter the Stock Code prefixes for your component and sub-assembly products.
You can enter more than one prefix by separating them with a comma.
The Stock Code drop down list will be restricted to products that have the prefix(es) entered here.

Suffix Delimiter

The suffix delimiter is the character used to separate the main part of the Stock Code from the numeric suffix.

Suffix Length

Enter the number of digits to be used for the numeric suffix.
For example entering 3 here will allow up to 999 duplicates to be made of any one template.
Suffix numbers will always be padded out to the selected length with leading zeros.

Sales Price = CP x

If you want to calculate the Sales Price automatically enter the amount to multiply the Cost Price by in this box.
Leave blank or zero to turn off aoutomatic Sales Price calculation.

The window can be resized by dragging the corners or edges.
The status bar at the bottom of the window will display a progress bar when the program is busy.

The main areas of the window are:

A list of your Template Products
A list of the BOM Table entries for the selected Product
Product.Details for the selected Product
Memo Notes for the selected Product
Product Details for the selected BOM Table entry

Company Box

The Company Name from your Sage Line 50 data files will be displayed here.

Menu Button

Click this button to display the program's menu.

Product Duplicator addon for Sage Line 50 / Sage 50 Accounts - Program Menu

New Button

Click this button to start creating a new Product by copying the currently selected Product Template.
This button changes to become the Save button when you are editing a new product.

Exit Button

Click this button to close the program down.
This button changes to become the 'Cancel' button when you are editing a new product.

Refresh

Select this option to reload the Product list and the Stock Code drop down list.

Options

Select this option to display the Options dialog (see discussion above)

Sage Path

Select this option to display the Path to your Sage Line 50 data. (see Installation)

User Name

Select this option to display the User Name and Password dialog. (see Installation)

Licence

Select this option to display the Licence dialog. (see Installation)

About

Select this option to display information about the program.

Help

Select this option to display this help document.
The document viewer window may be resized by dragging it’s edges or corners with the mouse.
To print the document click on the Print button

To Create a New Product

Select the required Template Product by clicking on it in the List of Products.
Press the New button.
The fields that you can edit will change to a white background
Select entries in the BOM Table to amend their Stock Code or Quantity.
The Stock Code can be ameded by clicking the button that will have appeared at the end of the Stock Field
An additional BOM entry called "New Entry" will have appeared. Select this entry and amend it to create a new table entry.
To delete a BOM entry simply set the quantity to zero.
When you change the contents of a field the text will coloured pink.This does not apply to the Notes field.
Click the Save button to save your changes and create the new product or press the Cancel button to abandon the process.

Simple and Straightforward

Installation of the Product Duplicator for Sage Line 50 / Sage 50 is simple and straightforward and should take no more than a few minutes. Comprehensive step-by-step instructions are provided.

Prior to installation you will need to:

Ensure that you have installed all the appropriate patches and updates from the Sage update site for your version of Sage (comprehensive notes are provided with the download)
Obtain from Sage a Serial and Activation key to enable '3rd Party Integration'.
Notes and telephone numbers are provided with the download but Sage will want to know the main serial number for your copy of Sage and the version number - found by going to Sage 50,'s HELP / ABOUT menu option.
N.B. The same 3rd Party Integration keys can be used for all addons that require them

A fully functional 30 day free trial of Sage 50 Product Duplicator add-on is available.
The trial can be unlocked by purchasing a full licence - you will not loose any settings
