Run the Program by either
- Clicking the 'Tools' button on the Sage Line 50 Product module tool bar.
- Alternatively you can select "Adept Tools" and then "Multi Location Stock" from the Windows Start Button / Programs Menu.
Setup your warehouses or other locations
Before running the program you must setup your warehouses and other locations.
To setup the Location Codes for the Multi Location Stock Tools
- Take a backup of your Sage Line 50 / Sage Accounts Data
- In Sage go to Settings / Company Preferences / Address Tab and click the Delivery Addresses Button
- Create address records for each warehouse with the Location Code as the first word of the Description.
- Set the master location as the default address.

Sage 50 Multi Location Stock - Program Options
Product Options > Cache Product List
- If the "Cache Product List" box is ticked the program will keep it's own list of products to allow for a quick startup. You will need to select the "Refresh" menu option whenever new producst are added to the the Line 50 product file.
- If this option is not ticked the program will load the entire Line 50 product file each time it is started up.
Product Options > Product Selection Field
- You can restrict the products that are available to the program in by selecting one of the fields in the "Product Selection Field" box.
- If you select one of the three product custom fields the program will only select products that have a Y in the corresponding box on the product record's Web tab.
- If you select WEB_PUBLISH or WEB_SPECIAL OFFER the program will only select products that have a tick in the corresponding box on the product record's Web tab.
Product Options > Search Descriptions
- If the "Search Descriptions" box is ticked you will be able to search for products by entering a word from the product description.
- Unticking the box will turn this feature off.
Product Options > Min Search Length
- The "Min Search Length" is the number of characters that have to be entered before the search facility is activated.
- If you have a large number of products you may need to increase this to 4 or more.
Product Options > Barcode Field
- Optionally select a product field in the "Barcode Field" box to indicate where barcodes are held.
Customer Options > Location Field
- If customers are to be associated with a specific location select a customer record field that will be used to hold the location code in the "Location Code Field" box.
Location Code
- Position - Select whether the location code should be prefixed or suffixed to the product code
- Delimiter - Enter a delimiter character that will be used between the main part of the product code and the location code.
- Length -
Select the length of the location code.
- Master Location Code -
Enter the code of the master location.
- No Location on Master Products -
Tick the box if the master products will not have the master location code prefixed or suffixed to them.
Sage 50 Multi Location Stock Tools - Main Window
- The window can be resized by dragging the corners or edges.
- The status bar at the bottom of the window will display a progress bar when the program is busy.
- When the program is idle, the number of products are displayed.
- Enter the code of the product that you want to see stock levels for in in this box.
- lternatively enter a word from the product's description and a list of matches will be displayed.
- Click on an entry in the list to select it.
- If only one match is found the product will be automatically selected.
Transfer Stock Between Locations

Date Box

Enter the date for the transaction (new in version 15.0.3)
Quantity Box
- Enter the quantity of product that you want to transfer from one location to another.
- The number of decimal places allowed is set in Sage 50 by going to Settings / Product Defaults and adjusting the Quantity D.P.
From Location List
- Click on the location that you want to transfer stock from.
To Location List
- Click on the location that you want to transfer stock to.
Transfer Button
- When you have selected From Location, To Location and Quantity you can press this button to transfer the Stock in Sage 50.
Refresh Button
Press this button to refresh the list of Products held in the program's cache. You will need to do this if new products have been added to the Sage Product file.
Build Button
- The first time you press this button the Sage 50 Multi Location Stock Tools Addon will create a duplicate set of product records for each location.
- If you have 2000 products and 5 locations the program will create 8000 new product records.
- Before pressing this button for the first time you must make a backup of your Sage Data.
- There is a confirmation prompt in case you click the button accidentally.
- Subsequent clicks of this button will create the duplicate records for any new products
- It will also copy any changes to the product details from the master products to the location products.

SOP Update Option
- Select this option to update new Sales Orders to use the Location defined for the Customer.
This allows new Sales Orders to be created using the master product code.
- The routine will scan all the Sales Orders and select new orders that have not been allocated yet.
- It will then check the Sales Ledger record for each new order to see if a location code has been entered for the customer.
- It will then change any master product codes in the order to the appropriate location product code.
- Products codes M, S1, S2, and S3 are ignored.

Simple and Straightforward
Installation of the Sage 50 Multi Location Stock Tools Addon is simple and straightforward and should take no more than a few minutes. Comprehensive step-by-step instructions are provided.
Prior to installation you will need to:
- Ensure that you have installed all the appropriate patches and updates from the Sage update site for your version of Sage 50 (comprehensive notes are provided with the download)
- Obtain from Sage a Serial and Activation key to enable '3rd Party Integration'.
Notes and telephone numbers are provided with the download but Sage will want to know the main serial number for your copy of Sage and the version number - found by going to Sage 50,'s HELP / ABOUT menu option.
N.B. The same 3rd Party Integration keys can be used for all addons that require them
