Sage 50 Document Explosion Addon - (£69+VAT)
Examines Sales Order, Purchase Order and Invoice records and inserts a BOM explosion below each Assembly.

- Order all the components for an assembly by just entering the assembly code.
- Invoice your customer for an assembly and list all the components underneath.
- The program will recurse through multiple levels of subassembly.
- Subassemblies and their components can be indented according to their level.
- Alternatively the program will produce a list of components with duplicates from different subassemblies added together into one line.
- Explosion lines can optionally show the Quantity, Product Code, Suppliers Part Number and Description.
- Quantities are multiplied up accordingly.
- The program can redo the explosion if amendments are made.
There is an option to select whether the Assemblies or the Components are posted to the Line 50 Ledgers.
- A list shows the documents and products that have been exploded in the current session.
- The program can be run from buttons in the Line 50 SOP, POP and Invoice modules.
- Licensed for use on as many of your company's computers as you like.
- Compatible with Sage Line 50 Financial Controller versions 8 to 15 (2009).

Run the program by:
- The program is run from the 'Explode' Button on the
- Sage Line 50 SOP (Sales Order Processing)
- POP (Purchasing Order Processing)
- or Invoice module toolbars
The Document Explosion Options Screen

Select which Line 50 modules you want to use this program with by ticking
- Explode Invoices
- Explode Sales Orders
- Explode Purchase Orders
Show Sub Assembly
- If the "Show Sub Assembly" box is ticked the program will show subassemblies indented according to their level.
- If it is not ticked the program will produce a list of components with duplicates from different subassemblies added together into one line.
- See the screen shots below for examples.
Post Components
- If the "Post Components" box is ticked, the Assembly line will be converted into a Message line and the Component lines will be turned into Product lines.
- As this affects the stock postings that will be made, the Ignore Posted, Allocated or Ordered box is automatically ticked as well.
Title Line One
- Enter a title line that will appear at the beginning of each BOM explosion
- The replaceable variables below can be used in Title Line One
Title Line Two
- Enter a second title line that will appear at the beginning of each BOM explosion.
- The replaceable variables shown below can be used in Title Line Two
BOM Line Layout
- In BOM Line Layout you can enter the text that will appear on each BOM detail line.
- The following replaceable variables can be used in the BOM Line Layout boxes
Replaceable Variables:
%Q = Quantity
%P = Product Code
%S = Supplier's Part Number
%D = Product Description
%U = Unit of sale
%A = "Assembly" for a first level assembly line and "Sub Assembly" for lower level assembly lines.
%L = Precede this title line with a blank line.
Record Pointers
- The Invoice Pointers, Sales Order Pointer and Purchase Order Pointer are automatically updated by the program.
- To speed up operation the program will skip all invoices and orders up to the appropriate pointer.
- The program sets these pointers to the first order or invoice that it finds that is within the number of days old that you set in the "Process records up to - days old" option.
Ignore Posted
- If the Ignore Posted box is ticked the program will ignore Invoices that have been Posted
Ignore Allocated
- If the Ignore Allocated box is ticked the program will ignore Sales Orders that have been Allocated.
Ignore Ordered
- If the Ignore Ordered box is ticked the program will ignore Purchaes Orders that have been marked as Ordered.
Common Options
- In order to speed up operation the program will only process recent orders and invoices.
- You may set the number of days that program will go back in the "Process records up to - days old" box. The minimum is 1 day and the maximum is 99 days.
- You can change the characters used for the BOM level indent by entering the required characters in "Indent Characters".
- The ^ character can be used to denote a space.
Document Explosion main Window
- The Sage Line 50 / Sage Accounts 50 Document Explosion Main window can be resized by dragging the corners or edges.
- The status bar at the bottom of the window will display a progress bar when the program is busy. When the program is idle, the number of splittable products is displayed.
- To start the explosion process press the Explode button.

Click this button to scan your current orders (or invoices) and insert explosions where necessary.
Exit Button
- Click this button to close the program down.
The History List
- Each time a split is carried out the program will enter the split details at the top of the list.
- If necessary you can scroll the list up and down with the scroll bar that will appear at the right hand side.

The Number of the Purchase Order, Sales Order or Invoice. |

The Product Code of the Assembly that was exploded. |

Refresh Menu Option
- Select this option to carry out an explosion run that ignores the pointers in the options dialog.
- The pointers will be reset to their correct values.
Options Menu Option
- Select this option to display the Options dialog. (See Options section above)
Data Path Menu Option
- Select this option to display the Data Path dialog. (See Installation section below)
User Name Menu Option
- Select this option to display the User Name and Password dialog. (See Installation section below)
Licence Menu Option
- Select this option to display the Licence dialog. (See Installation section below)
About Menu Option
- Select this option to display information about the program.
Help Menu Option
- Select this option to display this help document.
- The documentation viewer window may be resized by dragging it's edges or corners with the mouse.

Simple and Straightforward
Installation of the Sage 50 Document Explosion is simple and straightforward and should take no more than a few minutes. Comprehensive step-by-step instructions are provided.
Prior to installation you will need to:
- Ensure that you have installed all the appropriate patches and updates from the Sage update site for your version of Sage (comprehensive notes are provided with the download)
- Obtain from Sage a Serial and Activation key to enable '3rd Party Integration'.
Notes and telephone numbers are provided with the download but Sage will want to know the main serial number for your copy of Sage and the version number - found by going to Sage 50,'s HELP / ABOUT menu option.
N.B. The same 3rd Party Integration keys can be used for all addons that require them
- A fully functional 30 day free trial of Sage 50 Document Explosion add-on is available.
- The trial can be unlocked by purchasing a full licence - you will not loose any settings
